Copyright Law
Honestly Copyright is more confusing than I thought. I always thought copyright was about respect and giving credit but it is all about control. Teachers are arranged in the copyright laws so that they can use technology specifically during a classroom setting. Teachers are not allowed to share with the community or the entire school. Students also can insert pictures on PowerPoint presentations. Copy right is a civil right. Copyright orders that technology should not be used for entertainment or reward. It is important that teachers explain to their students about Copyright expectations. Also for example when a student write a research paper , it is very important that the student have a works cited and providing the readers with evidence and the Copyright laws are respected. It is also important that students are informed not to put their personal information on the web. Cyber Bullying is also important when others intend to humiliate or harass an individual. Copyright is a law that is intended to be followed. I remember when Lime Wire was popular; it was a number of individuals breaking the civil law of Copyright. The Copyright laws protect all people in some form or fashion.

Topic 4
I am aware of critiquing the reliability and validity in research. I'm totally aware websites like Wikipedia is a very unreliable resource because some information is added due to others assumptions or beliefs. It is very important that all sources are consistent and accurate. Such as commercials that say things “clinically proven by doctors to instantly work 68% better than proactive " which is a face cleanser. The question is who are the doctors, what type of doctors was the cleanser evaluated by or was it proven to be a reliable product by a legitimate association. It is the same for online research. As a researcher, it is very important that you intervene on multiple websites to get a clear understanding of the topic of discussion. Some websites are very straightforward while others are not so check for websites that give other links related to the topic to have more than one source to back up the information. I prefer to research through web databases such as EBSCO due to the fact that they are scholarly approved and considered reliable and valid masterpieces.
After searching and gathering information I make sure I'm completely acquainted with the purpose of the information. I like to read the synopsis of the articles to get a brief understanding or of the information that i am interested in. I also look for the authors of the information. Normally after I am completely done with research, it is required to have a works cited page to inform readers that the information is quality information and can stand alone. I also have to reevaluate the information at all times to make sure the information is serious information or entertainment based on what I'm trying to inform the readers about. However after research is complete the correct way the information should be valid and reliable due to the effort to understand the material and evaluate it. All the questions that you have as a researcher should be available on the website to be proven as a great source to bring insightfulness and a full understanding of material.
Research is often looked at very loosely. Most students do not look into the information instead they just do the work instead of learning throughout the research. In my opinion that's why I rather use databases because it is a reliable source that will not lead you towards the wrong direction. Such as on the website about dihydrogen monoxide it seems to be very legit because it is clear. It clearly states when it was last updated, the copy right person, and other links to explain details. So in doing these activities this information is not unfamiliar. During my journey of college research have always been important as far as collecting great information and citing sources. So I'm happy that I'm knowledgeable about this information because the internet can “sell someone a bill of goods”.

Simply Me
Hello my name is Apreia Booker . I am from Texas City , Texas. I 'm very outgoing, love spending time with my family and I love my mother to death. I'm extremely close to my mother and she is my greatest motivation. I am a part of the Women's Basketball Team at Texas A&M University - Commerce . I am a proud senior and will graduate in May of 2012. I hope to go to graduate school and become a future Occupational Therapist . I am a person that enjoy and love helping those in need. I consider myself extremly blessed so I do not mind lending a hand to make a difference in people's lives .
Technology in the class could be very interactive. Such as blogs can allow those that are not comfortable talking to write how they feel. It is useful becasue it connects ideas and it helps others to look at things at different perspectives. All this is gaining knowledge. Technology is learning because you have to be aware how to use software . In the classrooms educational fun games can be very insightful but also be very engaging for young children. Such as a website called kaboose.com has a number of games that introduce words , math and word searches and more. Games like that interest kids instead of the conventional lecturing. Technology forces the children to think outside the box and use context clues to figure things out. So my vision of learning should be interesting and fun. School should be serious but students should be intrigued by learning.
I hope to learn more about technology and all it has to offer. Creating this blog open my eyes to something new. I am a person that love to express myself through writing so blogging is a great idea. I can relate to bloggers. I am excited to see the ending product of the profolio. I am not familiar with podcasting so that will be something that I will add to my knowledge of technology. Hopefully i can also learn about creating web pages and about graphic designs.
